Ghanaian Delegation Explores Innovation at COSI

Published:

In a significant move to bolster the Columbus–Accra Sister City relationship, a 12-member Ghanaian delegation, led by Joyce Bawah Mogtari, Special Adviser to President John Mahama, visited the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) in Columbus, Ohio.

This visit was part of a broader economic and strategic mission aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in science, education, and tourism. During their tour of COSI, the delegation engaged with interactive exhibits and participated in discussions on science education and innovation. The visit coincided with the aftermath of the annual COSI Science Festival, a four-day event celebrating science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) throughout Ohio.

The delegation’s visit aligns with President Mahama’s “Black Star Experience” initiative, which seeks to position Ghana as a hub for cultural and scientific exchange. By exploring institutions like COSI, the delegation aims to foster partnerships that can lead to collaborative projects and knowledge sharing between Ghana and Columbus.

This engagement underscores the ongoing commitment to the Columbus–Accra Sister City partnership, established in 2015, which focuses on mutual growth through cultural, educational, and economic exchanges.

The visit to COSI represents a step forward in leveraging science and innovation as bridges between the two cities. As Ghana continues to invest in its tourism and educational sectors, collaborations with institutions like COSI offer valuable opportunities for development and international cooperation.
